I had an opportunity to start exploring mobile development back in 2008, while I was still enrolled at the HKA University of Applied Sciences in Karlsruhe. That got me interested in mobile development in general. Since I was always a big fan of JetBrains, I started getting into the programming language Kotlin. As a result, I ended up completely diving into Android.
Since April 2021.
Because we celebrate our differences, yet we’re still very much alike.
Creating the Android apps for Deutsche Welle was really cool and exciting. Seeing that I could help to make independent media and information available worldwide, even though I’m a software engineer, made me happy and proud.
Giving a presentation at a Kotlin conference was a lot of fun. I was absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to do so, especially seeing as how much I adore Rheinwerk, the publishing company that organised the event.

My favourite thing to do off the job is surf the world’s greatest waves.
I like to take my Golden Retriever out for a brief walk in the woods so that we both get a bit of exercise on our break.
