Introducing adesso Jena
In the middle of Germany and in the heart of the city
adesso’s Jena office is located in the middle of Germany and in the heart of the city. The world of research and education could hardly be closer, as the office is just 100 metres from the local university. Jena is the birthplace of e-commerce and still embodies this tradition today, with companies such as Intershop, SalesForce B2C and commercetools all based in the city. So we’re in good company!
There are plenty of places to eat in the nearby pedestrianised zone, which includes restaurants and shops. Wagnergasse is the culinary heart of the city. The surrounding area also offers a broad range of activities, including the Saale wine route, the Jena Horizontale long-distance footpath and a little further afield the Rennsteiglauf trail running event.
Culinary highlights:
adesso’s Jena office is located directly in the city centre. The office offers a great view of the Jena market, which takes place three times a week and offers a wide range of local and regional produce. Directly below the office there is also a bakery with lots of tasty treats on offer. Edeka and Aldi supermarkets are five minutes’ walk away and there are also numerous kebab houses and Asian restaurants close by. Wagnergasse is home to a large number of restaurants, the favourite of which among adessi is Gasthaus Zur Noll.

After work:
Jena is a small but perfectly formed city with a number of popular attractions. The Zeiss Planetarium always offers an up-to-date and interesting range of events. There is also plenty to do in Jena during the summer, such as go for a relaxing walk through the nearby Botanical Gardens, take a trip in a canoe along the Saale or have a dip in the Galaxsea swimming pool or the Südbad and Ostbad lidos. The city has a number of museums, including the City Museum, the Optical Museum, the Phyletic Museum and many more. Pleasant evenings can be spent in the restaurants and bars of Wagnergasse and the adjacent Bachstrasse.
