In the middle of Germany and in the heart of the city
adesso’s Jena office is located in the middle of Germany and in the heart of the city. The world of research and education could hardly be closer, as the office is just 20 metres from the local university. Jena is the birthplace of e-commerce and still embodies this tradition today, with companies such as Intershop, SalesForce B2C and commercetools all based in the city. So we’re in good company!
There are plenty of places to eat in the nearby pedestrianised zone, which includes restaurants and shops. Wagnergasse is the culinary heart of the city. The surrounding area also offers a broad range of activities, including the Saale wine route, the Jena Horizontale long-distance footpath and a little further afield the Rennsteiglauf trail running event.
Culinary highlights:
The Jena branch is located right in the city centre. Three times a week, the Jena weekly market offers a wide range of products from the region. There is also a coffee house next to the office building with a wide and delicious range of regional products. An Edeka and an Aldi supermarket are just a 5-minute walk away. There are several kebab stands and Asian restaurants right next door. Wagnergasse offers further delicacies with numerous restaurants. The secret adessi favourite is the Gasthaus Zur Noll.

Jena is a small but perfectly formed city with a number of popular attractions. The Zeiss Planetarium always offers an up-to-date and interesting range of events. There is also plenty to do in Jena during the summer, such as go for a relaxing walk through the nearby Botanical Gardens, take a trip in a canoe along the Saale or have a dip in the Galaxsea swimming pool or the Südbad and Ostbad lidos. The city has a number of museums, including the City Museum, the Optical Museum, the Phyletic Museum and many more. Pleasant evenings can be spent in the restaurants and bars of Wagnergasse and the adjacent Bachstrasse.
